“This pub had previously been severely damaged by fire and left derelict for an extended period while investigations were carried out. As a result, the building presented significant flooring challenges from the outset. Multiple layers of old and damaged floor coverings had to be removed, exposing an uneven and inconsistent substrate that required extensive preparation before any new finishes could be installed.

Our first task was to create a solid and level foundation. We applied approximately 50 units of Ardex 40 HB—a high-performance, water-based levelling compound capable of building up to 40mm in a single application. This product allowed us to correct the major undulations and restore structural uniformity throughout the space. Once this base layer cured, we carried out additional fine-screeding using Ardex CL to achieve a perfectly smooth surface suitable for high-quality LVT installation.

With the subfloor preparation complete, we moved on to installing a wide range of finishes tailored to the different areas of the venue. The kitchen, bar serveries, and toilet areas received durable new flooring designed to withstand heavy foot traffic and daily operational demands. In the main trade areas, we fitted brand-new carpets for comfort and acoustic performance, while the feature trade area was enhanced with beautifully laid parquet-style Karndean LVT. The restaurant space was finished with larger LVT planks to create a spacious, contemporary aesthetic that complements the overall design scheme.

Attention to detail was key throughout the project. From precise cutting and pattern matching to ensuring seamless transitions between materials, every stage was completed to the highest standard. The combination of restored subfloors, quality materials, and skilled craftsmanship has completely transformed the venue.

The final result is a stunning finish with décor and flooring that perfectly complement the pub’s character. The transformation not only revitalises the building but also provides a welcoming, modern environment for the local community to enjoy once again.
